PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley announces that a 60-year-old Sioux Falls man has been arrested on five counts of Possession of Child Pornography and one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
William Michael Tillman was arrested Tuesday by the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) after an investigation by the state’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC). A field test conducted by DCI indicated the controlled substance was methamphetamine. The substance also will be lab tested.
Maximum sentences are 10 years in prison with a one-year mandatory minimum on each of the child possession charges and five years in prison on the possession of a controlled substance charge.
Law Enforcement agencies involved were DCI, Sioux Falls Police Department, and Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office. The Minnehaha County State’s Attorney is prosecuting the case.
A bond hearing was held Wednesday afternoon for the defendant. He is presumed innocent under the U.S. Constitution.
